City receives disconnection notice anew
BACOLOD CITY -- Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) OIC General Manager Erlo Sajo sent last Friday another demand letter for payment of the unpaid billing last December 2008 which was addressed to Mayor Evelio Leonardia and copy furnished to Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson.
The Statement of Account reflected in December Billing was P3,323,084.15. Sajo informed the city government to give this matter a preferential action by paying said accounts as soon as possible to avoid the inconvenience of disconnection after nine days from receipt of the demand letter.
This figure was based on the summary of city government accounts prepared by Daisy Yaplito, head of Ceneco Collection Section. Under this statement of accounts, Various government offices at the Bacolod City Hall consumed electricity that reached to almost P582,462 reflected on December billing alone while the Tourism Streetlights and Barangay Streetlights had a monthly billing amounting P2.5 million.
Meanwhile, City Administrator Dr. Rogelio Balo had sought an explanation from Ceneco thru its General Manager Erlo Sajo, why they refused to accept the application for service connection of the New Government Center.
Balo cited the compromise agreement between them and Ceneco when they met at the Bishop's House in the presence of Bishop Vicente Navarra.
Balo quoted the language of the agreement that Ceneco agrees to accept the application of the City Government for service connection of the New Government Center with the submission of the Deed of Donation.
Balo reiterated in his letter that the acts displayed by Ceneco by way of refusal to accept application is a very clear violation of the aforequoted condition embodied in the agreement between the City of Bacolod and Ceneco.
