2 cops on 'PRO6’s Finest' list
They are considered as the cream of the crop of Police Regional Office (PRO) 6.
Police Senior Inspector Lourdes Banzuelo and Police Officer III Shella Mae Sangrines, after having been adjudged as among the Ten Outstanding Policewomen of the Philippines (TOPWP) for 2008, are now in the PRO 6’s Finest list.
During Monday's flag raising ceremony, Banzuelo and Sangrines received the coveted PRO6’s Best Badge from the region’s top cop, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R Cuevas. The issuance of PRO 6’s Best Badge started in 2006. It is only given to police personnel who exhibited exemplary performance and whose accomplishments were affirmed by winning any national contest.
Banzuelo is currently the Chief of Police Community Relations Section and Family, Juvenile, and Gender Sensitivity Section of Iloilo City Police Office; while Sangrines is the Chief of Complaint and Investigation Section of the Regional Women and Children Protection Desk under the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division.
TOPWP, which started the search in 2002, is an annual search sponsored by Zonta Club of Makati in recognition of the importance of policewomen as partners of men in institutional transformation of the country's premier law enforcement agency.
Meanwhile, PRO 6 also held recently the simultaneous pinning of rank ensigna to the 40 newly promoted Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) and 1,225 Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) regionwide.
In a report obtained from Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division of PRO6, 495 were promoted to rank of Police Officer II (POII), 418 for POIII, 151 for Senior Police Officer I (SPOI), 20 for SPOII, 90 for SPOIII, 51 for SPOIV, 12 for Police Inspector, 13 for Police Senior Inspector, 8 for Police Chief Inspector and 7 for Police Superintendent. Their new ranks took effective December 31, 2008.
