Tapaz PNP chief belies poking gun at bizwoman
TAPAZ, Capiz – The PNP chief of this town strongly denies all accusations hurled against him by a businesswoman when they met at the town hall here.
Sr. Inspector Diomedes Cuadra said that the allegations of Aurora Palomar, a businesswoman of this place, were all lies.
“All her allegations are lies, I respect her as an old woman and besides I follow the ethical standards of being a police officer,” Cuadra told The News Today (TNT).
According to him, he was only doing his job as a police officer when he apprehended the bancas last December 2, 2008 because of no permit and other pertinent papers to prove its legality.
He added that the said bancas were made from red lawaan trees which are classified as naturally grown tress and endangered species.
“Whatever purpose in making of bancas cannot supersede the law which prohibits any persons in cutting of tress,” he added.
Cuadra said that the apprehension of the bancas was already decided by the court and the responsible person was already fined because he pleaded guilty
On the other, Joery Gigan also signed an affidavit which collaborate the affidavit of Palomar who accused Cuadra of harassment.
Palomar filed a case against Cuadra for abuse of authority and his unethical acts which does not befit a police officer of the PNP before the National Police Commission in Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, Cuadra said that he is willing to answer the accusation of Palomar and will even file counter charges against the latter.
