City, police to strengthen security for Convergys employees
BACOLOD CITY -- Mayor Evelio Leonardia and the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) assured officials of Convergys, one of the biggest Business Process Outsourcing companies in the country, that the city government and the members of BCPO will strengthen the safety and security measures along San Antonio Park Square in Brgy. Mandalagan.
This after employees from Convergys reported a series of hold-up incidents.
Convergys Director for Facilities Jose Lloren, Site Leader Junilyn Magnaye and Facilities Manager Engr. Allan Granada met with Leonardia last Thursday to discuss safety measures for their agents and employees.
Leonardia disclosed that Bacolod consistently land as one of the top five cities for Peace and Order.
“We would like to prevent crimes and we wanted to make sure that the Call Center industry is taken cared of because this industry is born under my term of office,” said Leonardia.
He added ôwe will try to do what should be done to provide the security they (call center agents) need.
Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar, on the other hand, said that BCPO has planned out a monitoring scheme and patrol cars will be deployed to closely monitor the areas.
Moreover, Magnaye said they will closely coordinate with the city government and BCPO regarding the incidents.
