NOPPO awards Best of the Best for 2008 today
In line with the 18th Anniversary of the Philippine National Police, Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Noppo) Provincial Director Senior Supt. Manuel Felix will lead the awarding of the Best of the Best for 2008.
The awards would cover two categories, the Unit and Individual, wherein on the Unit Category Awards, Best City and Municipal Police Station of the Year and Best Provincial Mobile Group will be given.
Meanwhile, the individual category is composed of Best Senior Police Commission Officer of the Year (Admin and Operation), Junior Police Commission Officer, Senior and Junior Non-Commission Officer, Non-Uniformed Personnel and Policewoman of the Year.
Supporters will be given also certificate of appreciation including 36 media personalities, local government units and companies.
Newly promoted Chief Insp. Rico Santotome, Noppo Public Information Officer said the recognition activity is one way of acknowledging and giving compliment to those who performed very well on their profession as peace officer and also to those who extend their support to the provincial police force.
"The PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame had celebrated the anniversary last week while the PNP Regional Office 6 think will have it early next week," Santotome added.
The program will start at 9 a.m at the Kanlaon Hall of Camp Alfredo Montelibano Headquarters in Bacolod City.
Governor Isidro Zayco will grace the occasion as the invited guest speaker.
The provincial government of Negros Occidental has been supportive to all programs and projects of Noppo since then.
When Felix officially assumed office on November 24, 2008, replacing Senior Supt. Rosendo Franco, who was relieved from Negros and reassigned to Camp Crame, Zayco after a month made a recommendation to National Police Commission (Napolcom) making Felix a permanent police director because of his dedication and exemplary performance even at the short probationary period.
Felix on the other hand launched his battlecry in public service with an acronym of T.E.A.M.N.E.G.R.O.S which means Transforming the Negros Occidental police into a more capable, professional and respected public servant; Enforcing the law without fear or favor; Almighty first over anything elseand respect to authority and human rights; Media-police relations strengthening; Neighboorhood involvement and partnership; Environmental care and protection; Giving peace a chance; Road safety and management; On-line connectivity and facility and equipment improvement; Service delivery at our level best.
