3 village chiefs to DPWH: Prioritize circumferential road
BACOLOD CITY – Three barangay captains here have questioned the current outlaying of asphalt at Lacson Street when there are other roads like the circumferential road which badly needs immediate repair.
Barangay Captains Elvis Agsam of Mandalagan, Restituto Abaring of Bata, and Alexander Diamante of Taculing have written Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) District Engineer Norma Deloguines about their concern.
They claimed that the DPWH should have given priority to the repair of the circumferential road which is now heavily damaged. They said the asphalt outlaying of Lacson Street is not much important as the road is still in a better condition.
Brgy. Captain Diamante said that he cannot comprehend why the DPWH never considered the circumferential road to be a priority as many heavy trucks and more vehicles now use it with the opening of the New Government Center.
“This damaged portion of the circumferential road had been unattended for quite a long time," Diamante lamented.
