Meanwhile, in last Friday's meeting of the members and officers of the Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU) presided by the Liaison Officer & Coordinator of the CPU in Region VI it was agreed that an intensive follow-up of government vehicles found in beaches, night clubs, and other places of entertainment without any trip ticket will be listed down.
Also, there will be an intensification of word of mouth among members of the community and church-goers to help the government fight graft and corruption as otherwise the Philippines will become bankrupt once money is stashed from the government coffers by dishonest public officials and employees.
CPUs have already organized church members and students in many schools including concerned citizens to help report anomalies in government particularly multi-million contract, supplies and projects. CPU members believe that unless dishonesty in government is stopped, the Filipino people will one day wake up facing acute economic woes similar to what is experienced by rich nations in America, Europe and Asia.
