No report yet on police patrol car mishap
ROXAS CITY – Ivisan PNP has yet to release its findings on the vehicular accident involving a passenger jeepney fully loaded with boy scouts and the newly-acquired patrol vehicle of Mambusao PNP last February 14 at Brgy Ondoy, Ivisan, Capiz.
Capiz Provincial Police Office (CPPO) director Sr. Supt. Josephus Angan said the Ivisan PNP is still finalizing their report regarding the vehicular accident.
He said the PNP hierarchy is also working out for the possible release of financial assistance for those injured in the accident.
Earlier, Ricardo Anonoy, scoutmaster of 13-year old Don-Don Declaro who was seriously wounded, decried the alleged unfair investigation of the police.
Anonoy said that he was dismayed that the accident last Feb. 14 was not recorded in the police blotter.
Reportedly, the police even blamed and mauled the driver of the passenger jeep after the accident.
Declaro is now in serious condition and was transferred to St. Paul Hospital in Iloilo City for medical treatment. Two women and a policeman were also wounded in the accident.
The police patrol was the convoy of Philippine National Police (PNP) Deputy Director German Goria.
It was learned that the Roxas City Division shelled out some P60,000 while Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr. donated P10,000 for the hospital expenses of Declaro.
Other injured passengers were: Paul Henry Barrientos, 12, and Michael Beluso, 13, all are students of Katipunan Village Elem. School in Lawaan, Roxas City. They were rushed by bystanders to the Capiz Emmanuel Hospital here.
Myrna Beluso, mother of Michael, and Teresita Perez, another mother of a boy scout, were also injured. PO1 Bonifacio Vergara of 605th Mobile Force was also injured.
