Ted Lizares-Jimenez: 'I want to continue the legacy of the family'
BACOLOD CITY -- The Lizares family is a prominent and influential family in the Province of Negros Occidental – in politics, business and other fields.
Mr. Ted Lizares-Jimenez, the grandson of Don Antonio Alunan Lizares, former Governor of the Province of Negros Occidental and former Talisay Mayor, has placed his interest to preserve and carry the legacy of his grandfather.
Ted's mother Margarita and aunt Mercedes Edie were heirs of the imposing Lizares mansion here in the City of Bacolod.
He said, “My mom and aunt Mercedes chose to keep the house for sentimental reason and tradition which I carry on."
Ted stayed and worked in America for more than a decade.
He has several businesses in the province.
He said his reasons for seeking public office especially in the 3rd Congressional District in the province are to continue and preserve the legacy.
“I hope that the third generation of the Lizares family can continue the legacy,” he said.
He added that he has 100% interest to run in the 3rd District.
The Lizares and Rodriguez clan is supporting him, he said.
“I can carry on the legacy. It’s good to help,” he said.
Moreover, on the issue on the additional power by First Farmers Holdings, Lizares said that the concerned officials of First Farmers and Central Negros Electric Cooperative should set aside differences and think of the good of the province.
He cannot see the reason for this additional power supply to be sold in Cebu as the province also needs additional power.
