Former Capiz board member is IBP prexy
ROXAS CITY – Former board member of the province of Capiz was elected president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Capiz Chapter.
Atty. Benjamen “Totong” Distura was elected unopposed as president of IBP in the election held here last February 28.
Other elected officers were: Jul Freeman Amani, vice president; Remia Fuentes Bartolome, treasurer; Rochelle Gregorio, secretary; Lorencito Diaz, auditor; Lolita Quisumbing, PRO; Randy Billanes and Emelyn Arboleda Depon, Sergeant-at-Arms.
Board of Directors are: Antonio Bisnar, Myra Yngcong, Gilbert Benjamen, Babette Bolido and Kenneth Alovera.
Distura told The News Today (TNT) that the new set of officers will tentatively take oath on April or May this year.
Distura is married to Leticia Basilonia with whom they were blessed with six children, namely: Gilbert Paul, 27, a graduate of medicine; Irene Bianca, 23, 3rd year law student; Borg Jie, 22, and Philamer, 21, all are first year students of Theology; Quennie Minalete, 14, 2nd year high school and Benjamen, Jr, grade III at Chinese school.
Distura will replace outgoing IBP president Atty. Marlou Ubano.
