Police facing blank wall on gasoline station heist
ROXAS CITY – Police has yet to identify the suspects in the killing of a cashier and seriously wounding a security guard in the hold up that took place in a gasoline station in Brgy. Lawaan here early Saturday morning.
Lawaan Brgy. Captain Randee Albar told The News Today (TNT) he is confident that the police will soon have leads that would result to the capture of all suspects responsible for the hold up.
He added that the perpetrators might be drug users who were having a ‘tripping’ considering that they used big stones or hard object to kill the victim.
Earlier, Supt. Leo Batiles, Roxas police chief, identified the victim as John Oropeo, 45, of Brgy. Lonoy, this city. He died on the spot due to several injuries he suffered on the different parts of his body.
Wounded was security guard Renato Perez of Dumalag, Capiz. He suffered fatal injuries in the different parts of his body and is still under medical treatment.
The incident reportedly happened about 5 a.m., an hour after the gasoline station owned by businessman Matty James Viterbo, opened.
Batiles said only the security guard could tell what really happened because no witness has come out yet.
A woman who was about to have her money changed found Oropeo and Perez lying on the ground with blood on their bodies and heads.
It was learned that some P13,000 was lost due the said hold up incident.
