615 applicants for PNP recruitment in WV
The Philippine National Police continuously attracts young professionals as manifested in the number of applicants in its various recruitment programs.
Recently, the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (RPHRDD) of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) reported that, with only 180 quota allocations for Western Visayas, 615 young professionals submitted the folders of documentary requirements for evaluation in the PNP regular recruitment program this year.
RPHRDD closed the acceptance of folders last March 13.
The qualified applicants will undergo the agility test on April 1 and a series of examinations thereafter.
“Aside from agility test, they will also undergo neuro-psychiatric test, drug test, medical/dental examinations, and panel interview,” PRO6 Director, Police Chief Superintendent Isagani R. Cuevas said.
In September last year, PRO6 had 700 applicants in the second phase of the PNP Attrition Program, who vied for a quota of 260. They are now undergoing the six-month Police Basic Recruit Course (PBRC) at Regional Training School 6, Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
The number of applicants will give the PNP Recruitment and Selection Board ample choices for the best and the brightest for the police service.
“We got graduates of various bachelor degrees. Others have even master’s degree while some are graduates of Bachelors of Laws,” Cuevas said of the educational backgrounds of the applicants for Police Officer I (POI) position.
The successful applicants will tentatively take their oath of office on July 1.
The new POIs must undergo the PBRC, six-month Field Training Program, and 45-day Special Counter-Intelligence Operations Unit Training (SCOUT) in order to attain permanent status.
A POI receives P15,126.00 gross pay, inclusive of P9,466.00 basic pay and other fringe benefits. (FB Lindero Jr)
