‘Bigtime families behind cattle rustling in Iloilo,’ top cop says
And they are back. Cattle-rustlers that is, and where else but in “cattle-rustler” territory in Iloilo’s Third District towns.
The suspects? Not “regular” ones but this time, according to Iloilo’s top cop, members of a prominent Ilonggo family.
The disclosure was made over Bombo Radyo Iloilo by Senior Superintendent Ricardo Dela Paz, Director of the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO).
The “cattle-rustling” ring is apparently based in Jelicoun, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Dela Paz in said interview further confirmed that validation is underway to established responsibility of the “bigtime” suspects in recent cattle-rustling incidents.
The News Today (TNT) gathered that at least seven stolen cattle are blamed on the group. Towns affected thus far include Leganes, Santa Barbara and New Lucena in the Second District and Cabatuan as well.
The group’s modus operandi though, Dela Paz added, practically is well-entrenched throughout Iloilo.
As such, Dela Paz called on the locals to immediately report similar incidents to authorities.
