Albar steers Brgy. Lawaan to progress
ROXAS CITY – Brgy. Lawaan, one of the biggest barangays in this city, has come a long way under the stewardship of its Punong Barangay Randee Albar.
Albar, the youngest barangay executive here, said that the development of their barangay could be attributed to the help poured in by City Mayor Vicente Bermejo.
A neophyte barangay official, Albar cited as one of the developments in their barangay the concreting of 3.2 kilometers foot walk of the defunct Philippine Railways.
The said footwalk with a budget of some P1million could be used by tricycle and private cars going to Loctugan here.
Brgy Lawaan is an adjacent place in the city with 9,940 population and 5,500 voters. It has an area of 520 hectares and has P 2.8 million Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
Albar said the other projects in their barangay which he has given priority are: declogging of drainage system, renovation/repair of the barangay hall, streetlights, clean and green, clearing of footwalks on railways, landmarks/marking, removable street post/basketball board and ring, purchase of chairs and computer with printer.
He said that despite the increase in their IRA, they will not increase their salaries and benefits and instead prioritize more projects in the barangay for development.
Albar also said he has proposed to have “botika sa barangay” so that his constituents could avail of cheaper medicines.
