DOLE sets orientation of nurse-trainees
With the scheduled deployment of nurse-trainees in their respective areas of assignment starting April 3, the Department of Labor and Employment Region 6 is set to conduct an orientation on the training modules to hired nurse-trainees under the Nurses Assigned in Rural Service (NARS) project.
The orientation will be handled by the Provincial Training Team composed of representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Nurses Association (PNA), academe, the Provincial Health Officer, and Head of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) 6 on the following dates and venue, to wit:
Aklan – April 3 (Aklan State University, Banga, Aklan)
Antique – April 2 (DOLE Antique, Principe St., San Jose, Antique)
Capiz – April 1 (MVW Restaurant & Tourist Inn, Roxas Avenue, Roxas City)
Guimaras – April 2 (Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol)
Iloilo – April 1 & 2 (Punta Villa Resort, Sto. Niño, Arevalo)
Negros Occidental – April 1 (Governor’s Hall, Provincial Capitol)

The NARS program would provide around 480 unemployed nurses in Region 6 with training and experience they could use for employment overseas. While on training, nurse-trainees would be given a stipend of P8,000 per month.
They would be deployed in 96 identified poorest municipalities in the region at an average of 5 per municipality, for a six-month tour of duty.
