15 families affected by fire in Sooc
Seven houses were totally damaged by the fire that occurred in Brgy. Sooc, Arevalo Friday night last week. Five other houses were partially burned affecting a total of 15 families in the said barangay.
Said families were temporarily evacuated at the barangay's multi-purpose hall.
Sooc Punong Barangay Zoilo Rojo said he has already asked help for his constituents whose houses were razed by fire.
He said the affected families need food, medicines and clothings. The city government has already provided relief goods but, Rojo said, they were not enough.
Arson investigators said the fire started from the house of Arsenia Saraza which quickly spread because the house was made of light materials.
Witnesses said the fire emanated from an electrical wiring that suddenly sparked.
The totally damaged houses are those of Rolando Edurot, Jimmy Barredo, Cathy Ponsaran, Cecile Bravo, Alma Badoles, Rolin Villegas and Arsenia Saraza.
Partially damaged houses those of Niknik Aragon, Elizabeth Mirra, Luvan Deslate, Aida Mandarico, and Rhea Parcia.
