DOST reveals 2009 Undergraduate Scholarship qualifiers
The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) had recently released the names of qualifiers to the 2009 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Programs.
There were two types of scholarship programs, the Merit-A and RA 7687 scholarships. Under the RA 7687 Program were six subcomponent scholarships which includes the BS Scholarships, Merit-B, Ladderized Scholarships, BS with bridging subjects, Bridging Education in S&T for Indigenous People, and Grants for Educational Assistance on Technology and Science Teaching Courses in Mindanao.
For region VI, there were 50 qualifiers under the Merit-A program and 265 qualified under the RA 7687 Program out of the 21, 648 applicants who took the national examination last November 9, 2008.
Notice of award will be sent to the qualifiers with the details on the schedule of Orientation and signing of the Scholarship Agreement.
Conferred scholars will be entitled to scholarship privileges per academic year which includes tuition and other school fees not to exceed Php 6,000.00 per semester, book allowance of Php 5,000.00 per academic year, and monthly stipend for the 10 month duration, group health and accident insurance, and additional privileges during summer if required in the curriculum.
