Carles PNP adjudged province's best
Leon, Igbaras PNP get 'kalabasa' award
Carles police station was adjudged the best police station in the province of Iloilo this first quarter of 2009.
The award was given by Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) director Senior Supt. Ricardo Dela Paz Friday last week in a simple ceremony at Camp Sumagaysay in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
Carles PNP is under the stewardship of Insp. Remias Alabaren.
Ranked number two best police station is the Maasin PNP under Insp. Romeo Villasis. Maasin PNP previously garnered the number one spot.
Third best police station went to Oton PNP under Supt. Rolando Sigaya. Oton PNP is a consistent best performing police station having garnered the number 2 and number 1 spots in previous years.
Adjudged as best Provincial Mobile Group (PMG) was the 607th PMG based in Dumangas, Iloilo headed by Supt. Kashmir Disumangcop.
607th PMG covers the towns of Dumangas, Dingle, Dueñas and Barotac Nuevo.
Meanwhile, dubbed as lousy performing police stations in the province are those of Leon and Igbaras.
The criteria for rating the police stations include their performance in terms of response to crimes, investigation, intelligence, police community relations, and logistics, among others.
The best police stations were performed well in the campaign against illegal activities such as illegal gambling, drug trafficking, cattle rustling, etc.
A special team from the IPPO assesses the performance of the province's 42 police stations every month.
