10 awardees honored on 'Dungog Capiznon' in Capiztahan 2009
ROXAS CITY – Ten awardees, two of which are institutions, were given due honor for continually propagating the legacy of Capiznon spirit and values of excellence, industriousness, integrity and courageous service to fellow Capiznon Monday night at the provincial capitol in “Dungog Capiznon”, one of the highlights of 108th founding anniversary of Capiz.
Awarded were: Capt. Randy G. Bance, a PMAer of Phil. Air Force and resident of Casanayan, Pilar, Capiz who is awarded as one of ten outstanding soldiers in 2008 by Metro Bank Foundation; Dr. Adolfo Billosillo, a native of Roxas City is the founding officer of the Foundation for Lay Education on Heart Diseases Inc; Federico Gilbance Caballero, legend of Indigenous People History and Culture, and resident of Wright, Tapaz, Capiz; CACAG, the champion in voluntary fire fighting services in Roxas City and entire province of Capiz for 24 years; and Dr. Victor Bermejo Enriga, a native of Panay,Capiz and Quezon City treasurer is the champion in tax collection in the country and in helping promote the tourism in Capiz.
In Special Citaiton awards: Angeli Joyce Yap Dy, the pride of Capiz and student of Capiz National High School representing Capiz and the Philippines to the Intel Science & Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada on May 10-15, 2009; Former Pilar Mayor Gideon Ike Patricio for pioneering the organization of first National Federation of Volunteer Probation Aids in the Philippines and extending his relentless voluntary services as its first national president; Gen. Orlando Pestaño, for his continuous and relentless support to help ensure peace and order and alleviate the lives of Capiznon especially during disaster; Chief Petty Officer Edwin G. Palacios, PN, as a pride of Capiz and the country by demonstrating gallantry, competence, professionalism and integrity as member of the AFP as one of the ten outstanding soldiers of the Phil. 2008 and College of Nursing-Filamer Christian College for outstanding and meritorious performance in the continuing commitments to quality education in its nursing which produces topnotchers in the Nursing Licensure Exam.
The awardees received plaque of appreciation given by Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco, Sr. and provincial administrator Zoe Herrera.
Tanco congratulated the recipients of the awards as they inspired everyone to do the same for the Capiznons.
