STL illegally operating in Capiz
ROXAS CITY – Small Town Lottery (STL), which is legally operating in Iloilo City as its franchise coverage area, has been reported to be illegally operating in Capiz province particularly in the 2nd district.
STL was not granted a franchise in Capiz as provincial officials were against its existence.
A source told The News Today (TNT) that certain members of the Philippine National Polcie (PNP) receive protection money ranging from P5,000 to P7,000 per month so its operation would continue.
The same source revealed that operators of the STL are those who have strong connections with politicians in Capiz.
The source added jueteng locally known as “daily double” is also operating in the city and both in the 1st and 2nd districts of Capiz
“Daily double” result is being taken from the result of Lotto which is drawn by the Philippines Charity Sweepstakes (PCSO) in Manila everyday.
Meanwhile, the PNP hierarchy in Capiz was not reached for comment regarding the expose’ as of press time.
Earlier, Capiz Governor Victor Tanco, Sr., in a radio interview, vowed to eradicate illegal gambling in Capiz.
