Negrense Beauty, Health & Wellness Show at Panaad Festival
The Metro-Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI) and the Spa Association of Negros Occidental (SPAN) in coordination with the Office of Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue will spearhead the 1st Negrense Beauty, Health and Wellness Show tomorrow April 23 to 26, 2009 at Robinsons Place Bacolod. This is officially recognized as part of the activities in the ongoing Panaad Festival 2009 that kicked off last Saturday April 18, 2009.
Batapa-Sigue said that “as the Philippines, tagged as the “heart of Asia”, emerges as a competitive international health tourism destination, the 1st Negrenese Beauty, Health & Wellness Show aims to help aggressively promote Bacolod and Negros Occidental’s potential for medical tourism, availability of quality health and wellness centers, growing organic agriculture industry, and its competitive and highly-trainable human resource pool”
The project, which involves exhibits, live programs, and educational tracks, is aimed to promote the beauty, health and wellness sector of Negros Occidental, identify business, job generation and investment opportunities in this sector, highlight best practices and activities that promote health and wellness, and serve as a venue for information and education to the public.
On the other hand, MBCCI President Roberto Montelibano welcomed last week the participants of this activity and hope that through this endeavour, it could generate more jobs and opportunities for our people to make them really “Feel Life’s Goodness”.
Batapa-Sigue emphasized the need for health tourism which is associated with travel to health spas or resort destinations where the primary purpose is to improve the traveler’s physical well being through a regimen of physical exercise and therapy, dietary control, and medical services relevant to health maintenance. She hopes that Bacolod once again will become a portal of opportunities for the whole island just as she pioneered for the information and communication technology (ICT) industry in 2004.
Target participants include spas, health and wellness clinics, centers and resorts, beauty parlors and salons, health supplements, vitamins, beverages and food, organic products gyms and health studios, and beauty and skin care products.
