Roxas City's IRA share seen to increase by P30M
ROXAS CITY – This city is expected to have an increased share of its Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) by P30 million after the 16 new cities were reverted back as municipalities.
Mr. Rey Cordenillo, City Administrator, told The News Today (TNT) that the city has chances to regain its lost IRA share last year in the amount of P24 million when these 16 towns became cities and earlier, they reverted back as municipalities following the protest of the League of Cities which was favored by the Supreme Court.
However, the said 16 towns filed motion for reconsideration, according to Cordenillo.
Last year, the city suffered loss of P24 million from its IRA share from the national government under City Mayor Vicente Bermejo's administration.
The city administrator said that with this welcome development, the city will expectedly have more projects implemented once the said IRA share is collected.
Presently, Cordenillo said that lightings in the cities, concreting of barangays roads and other developments are undertaken by the city government.
