Cadiz City: Top grosser during Panaad
BACOLOD CITY -- With an earning of P678,284 from the week-long celebration, Cadiz City was declared the top grosser local government unit in this year's 16thPanaad sa Negros Festival.
The city received P50,000 cash and a trophy.
San Carlos City on the other hand followed with gross income of P597,707.
The Best Tourist Destination Pavilion award was won by Silay City and brought home P30,000 and a trophy.
Cities of Talisay and Bago were in second and third place and received trophies and cash prizes of P25,000 and P20,000, respectively.
Meanwhile, the week-long festivities recorded no untoward incidents except for 21 cases of stolen and lost cell phones and other valuables. Two suspects of cell phone snatching were arrested and endorsed to Police Station 7 of the Bacolod City Police Office according to Police Superintendent Armando Tubongbanua, Task Force Commander of TF Pana-ad.
Police Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix, NOPPO director, commended NOPPO personnel as well as augmentation troops from the 6th Regional Mobile Group, Bacolod City Police Office, Philippine Army, Red Cross, Amity, PDMT, Pana-ad Security and other force multipliers for their determined efforts to ensure a safe and secure celebration of said festivities.
"The successful celebration of Pana-ad festivities can be attributed to the full cooperation of all security personnel assigned inside Pana-ad Park and the visitors as well," he added.
