'Our Country needs leaders with Political Will'
HINIGARAN – Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chair Bayani Fernando said the country needs leaders who have political will.
He said his political will has helped him render efficient government service for 17 years.
Fernando was here Thursday as guest of honor in the Hinugyaw Festival.
He joined Negros Occidental 5th District Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” T. Arroyo in the inauguration of the Kahilwayan Village Road in Brgy. Gargato.
Governor Isidro P. Zayco, Board members Enrique Miguel Lacson, Dr. Melvin Ibañez, town Mayor Hermilo Aguilar, ABC President Brgy. Captain Oscar Yulo and some others also joined Fernando and Cong. Arroyo in the inauguration of a road project.
Fernando told the residents of Brgy. Gargato that he continues to work on the beautification and orderliness in Metro Manila so that others will continue to have interest in Manila.
“You have relatives in Manila and let me take care of them when they need help. Sooner or later, I’ll take care of my countrymen,” he said.
Fernando has been going around the country because he wants to see personally the situation of his fellow Filipinos.
Fernando has a serious interest to run for President and in fact might get the anointment of President Arroyo for the Presidential seat.
He said that the people have more reasons to choose him because he is somebody who has plans and makes things happen and his political will has helped him instill discipline and change in the country.
Bayani was also a great singer. He sang at the coronation of Queen Catherine of Hinigaran.
His song was entitled “Pitong Gatang” which has significance in the various issues and concerns in the community.
Ms. Valerie Concepcion, a popular co-host in the widely watched Wowowee also performed at Hinigaran town’s plaza after the coronation night.
Cong. Arroyo brought Valerie Concepcion in Hinigaran for the people to see their favorite television personality and to enjoy watching her perform live on stage.
Moreover, Cong. Arroyo also turned over a brand new mini-van as a service vehicle of Hinigaran Elementary School-A.
