Kits of all sizes and shapes decorated the skies when the 3rd Bird Kite Flying Competition was successfully held last April 23, 2009 at the Saint Anthony's College football field.
It was organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Antique, Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), Protected Area Management Board of Sibalom Natural Park (SNB-PAMB) and the Provincial Tourism Office.
Four entries participated in the Municipal Category while there were six in the Open Category.
The winners in the Municipal Category were: Bugasong, 1st place; Patnongon, 2nd place; Tibiao, 3rd place; and Laua-an, 4th place.
The winners in the Open Category were: Patnongon, 1st place; Bugasong, 2nd place; and St. Anthony's College, 3rd place.
The winners received cash prizes and trophies.
This activity served as a venue for providing the general public of Antique and its neighboring areas, local tourists, researchers, and academe with data and information on the rich biodiversity of the province and feature current undertakings of each respective member municipal LGUs on nature conservation reflected in their symbolic species.
This activity was in line with the Binirayan Festival.
