Another suspect in killing of couple in Maayon yields
ROXAS CITY – Another suspect in the brutal killing of a couple in Maayon, Capiz last Monday morning voluntarily surrendered to the police yesterday.
Marlon Villasin, 25, one of the suspects who killed couple Manuel Bayog, 49, and wife Monaliza, 45, of Sitio Opao, Alasaging, Maayon voluntarily surfaced to the Maayon police.
The other suspect, Marlon's father Delfin, immediately surrendered to the police after the incident. Delfin's son Paolo, 30, was also killed by Manuel during the feud at their house.
Bayog couple sustained fatal wounds at different parts of their bodies inflicted by fighting bolos and 12 gauge shot gun while Villasin sustained gunshot wounds from same gun. They all died instantly,
The incident took place at around 9:30 a.m. Monday in said place when Delfin, Marlon and Paolo attacked the house of victims Manuel and Monaliza after the latter slaughtered the swine without asking permission from the former.
Report reaching The News Today (TNT) revealed that the couple Manuel and Monaliza Bayog were entrusted by the suspects to take care the pig until it grew up.
Report also said that the agreement between the suspects and victims was that the swine was entrusted to the victims' care until it grew up, however, when the swine was about to give birth, the victims offered to pay the amount of P3,500 to the suspects.
However, when the payment took place, the victims only paid P3,000 so the suspects disagreed.
Later, the pig got sick so the victims slaughtered it to regain their capital for feeds.
The suspects, upon learning that the pig was butchered, asked their share of meat however, the victims refused to give it prompting them to attack the former's house.
When Manuel saw the three who were armed with fighting bolos, he got his 12-gauge shotgun and shot them hitting Paolo who died instantly.
Delfin, upon seeing that one of his sons was already hit by bullets, went up the house of Manuel and fought the latter using bolo until Manuel retreated towards the rice field. There he was ganged up by the Delfin and son Marlon.
When Manuel was already dead, the suspects returned back to the couple’s house and also killed Monalisa.
Claudio Gonzales, nephew of the victims who slaughtered the swine, confirmed that the suspects got irked when they learned that the said swine was slaughtered as they wanted to have a share of its meat.
