Blessings on JUNE
June is known as the welcome-back-to-school-month. The first day of June marked the first day of classes especially for public schools. For private schools and probably most colleges and universities, classes start on the 8th. Moreover, June is the nickname of my father who will be celebrating together with the other fathers, their big day on the 14th. Advance Happy Fathers' Day to my dad and to all the Tatay, Daddy, Papa, Amay out there. On the 11th, Mr. Richie Garcia, SJS' Comptroller and a good friend of mine will celebrate his birthday. We, Filipinos, are going to celebrate the 111th Independence Day this June 12, 2009. Wow! See how time flies so fast. Let us not forget that June is wedding bells and wedding fever month. Filipino couples would believe that picking June as the right month to get married would bring luck to the newly-established family.
June 2009 marks my second year as part of THE NEWS TODAY. I've written a hundred articles in which I included the best write-ups of The Yellow Bird (SJS school publication) editors. To Sir Erly Garcia, Ms. Kathy Villalon and to Mrs. Marichel Magalona, THANK YOU for the support and for trust you have given me. I apologize for sometimes not promptly and religiously submitting my write-up on due dates. Thank you for understanding and for keeping me a space in the well-read news daily in Iloilo City. My exposure here as a writer gave me more confidence in expressing my thoughts and views on different matters. Through writing, I was able to gain affirmation from my readers that what I want to impart are the things that they wanted to express, too. To the whole staff of THE NEWS TODAY, thank you so much.
It's our 3rd! Yes, you read it right! On the 7th of this month my special someone and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary. Three years of being together is “jampacked” of good memories, of laughter and fun mixed with trials and challenges that came along the way. We traveled to so many places and enjoyed every minute with each other. We both grew as a person and as a partner. Now that we are turning three, we believe that many things may happen but one thing is for sure, we'll always love one another. Just like saying these lines all over and over again...
“It would take me a lifetime to list all the reasons why you are so important to me. It would take me forever to find words for all the thanks I would like to express. For all the deeply reassuring feelings I have felt in your acceptance of me. For who I am and for what I have and I don't have. And it would take an eternity to give you back even half of the happiness you've given me during the wonderful times we've shared. But until forever is here, until a lifetime is lived, and until eternity gives me a chance to say everything my smiles try to show...I will hold you in my heart – more gently than any other feeling. I will keep you on my mind – more lovingly than any thought, and I will feel blessed by your presence – more than you'll ever know. I LOVE YOU.”
When God threw blessings here on earth, I can say that I was fully awake on the month of June.
