Confusing slogan
Text message from a doctor (name withheld upon request): This slogan of the province just made my day. It's posted in front of the capitol building near PVA office. It reads: “vision: a malnourished free province.” What do they mean? A province that is made up of free but malnourished people? Or a province where they offer free malnutrition? Maybe they meant those who are not free (read: IRC inmates) are malnourished. Incidentally, that was the problem when a lot were admitted in Pototan hospital.
Puno's provincial sorties
Right after DILG Sec. Ronaldo Puno declared his intention to run for vice president next year, the secretary has started making rounds of the provinces all over the country. Today he is scheduled to attend the Regional Operations Consultative Forum here in Iloilo City. He will likewise attend the forum on climate change to be conducted by the Vice Mayor's league of Iloilo and the meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council. He will meet the mediamen in a press conference as well. Lain gid man kon may plano ka sa politika kay daw nagapisan ka. Indi bala P're Jun?
Arrogant man (2)
About that little boy, err man, always seen tailing the governor, our mole tipped us that he recently had an encounter with a fellow supplier who showed interest in joining transactions at the provincial government. According to our mole the man warned the fellow bidder not to enter his territory. Wow kapal! This same man also allegedly berated an employee of the GSO for giving another supplier a bidder's tender saying siya lang ang pwede maka-transaksyon. Nagdaku ang ulo sang tonto! Abi niya kay pirme sya gatabid sa gobernador poderoso na siya. Perhaps Embong should teach this arrogant fellow a lesson.
