The Provincial Environment and Natural Resource Office (PENRO) here is currently interviewing applicants to hire 39 contractual workers under the Comprehensive Livelihood Emergency Employment (CLEEP).
PENR Office Jesse Vego said those who will be hired will assist in the Upland Development Program (UDP) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resource Office (DENR) and they will receive P8, 000 monthly salaries from June to November of this year.
He said is not clear whether they will be rehired when their contract expires, but at the moment, they are hiring for workers who will serve for only six months.
The CLEEP workers will be assigned to the different areas of the province: Bacolod City will get six employees, Kabankalan-12, Cadiz 9, Sipalay –five, Mt. Canlaon Natural- three and PENRO office–six.
Aside from providing livelihood to the unemployed, Vego said the CLEEP program implemented in DENR also supports the Climate Change crusade of the government that requires educating farmers on the effects of the phenomena and massive planting of trees including mangroves to bring back the ecosystem to its healthy state.
