Cuartero brgy execs back Mrs. Castro’s congressional bid
CUARTERO, Capiz – Twenty two barangays from this town recently passed resolutions endorsing Mrs. Jane Castro, wife of 2nd District Cong. Fredenil Castro, to be their candidate for representative in next year's election.
The 20 resolutions were read at the Civic Center during the Barangay Night on June 8, one of the activities of 137 Religious Fiesta and Agdahanay 2009 slated from June 4 - 13.
Mayor Roger Flores also endorsed Castro to be their bet in the Ugyon Capiz party with Former Department of Agriculture (DA) Usec Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante as their partymate.
Last January this year, Castro was also endorsed by nine mayors of the 2nd district and barangay captains in Jamindan to run as congresswoman in the said district.
On her part, Castro said that she accepted the challenge and declared to run for congresswoman as she wanted to continue the plan and projects of his husband Fredenil in the 2nd district.
Present during the Barangay Night are: Vice Gov. Felipe Barredo, Former City Councilor Mark Ortiz, Board Member Gilbert Ardivilla, Mayor Jose Alba of Mambusao, Mayor Arturo Orosco of Sapian, Mayor Lilia Castro of Dumalag, Mayor Ethel Jinon of Jamindan, Mayor Rosemarie Gardose of Tapaz, and several barangay officials.
