Computer school given until June 30 to meet TESDA requirements
BACOLOD CITY – Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has given the management of AMA Computer Learning Center (ACLC) located at Cuadra-Locsin Sts. here until June 30 to comply with the requirements and advised it to refrain from advertising their program and accepting enrollees until they have been issued their certificate of program registration (COPR).
This was announced recently by TESDA provincial director Yolly Porschwitz. The statement came after a group pf students currently studying at AMA Computer Learning Center in Bacolod has slammed their school for its alleged non-accredited courses and other alleged irregularities.
The students, who requested that their names be withheld by the media outlets, alleged that all the three courses at ACLC are not accredited by TESDA. Earlier, TESDA Supervising Specialist Teresita Campatero confirmed this allegation and explained that until now ACLC has not completely complied with all the requirements for the "re-registration" of their three courses.
The courses are: Computer Systems and Network Technology (Hardware and Servicing), Computer Systems and Design Programming (Programming) and Computer-Based Accountancy (Bookkeeping) – which are all two-year courses.
Porschwitz said TESDA conducted an internal investigation on ACLC's alleged irregularities and discrepancies in their program offerings.
ACLC has applied with TESDA for a re-registration but this was not granted due to its failure to meet the necessary requirements.
