Felix justifies Alvarado’s relief
BACOLOD CITY -- Police Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix, provincial director of Negros Occidental justified the relief of Himamaylan police chief.
Police Chief Inspector Regidor Alvarado has been relieved from his post and temporarily reassigned at Camp Montelibano in Bacolod City effective June 11 of this year,.
“It will pave the way for an independent and unhampered investigation on the facts and merits of the alleged shootout that transpired in Barangay Aguisan in Himamaylan City some weeks back between the Javelosas and the Alsosa and Rivera families that left one minor injured,” he added.
Alsosa and Rivera families complained to the office of the Chief PNP, Police Director General Jesus Verzosa, regarding the alleged shootout wherein they said the police are no longer impartial on their investigation.
As ordered by the PNP chief, Senior Supt. Felix immediately acted and ordered Police Superintendent Edgardo Ordaniel, concurrent 613th Provincial Mobile Group director based in Hinigaran, to assume the post vacated by Alvarado in an acting capacity.
Alvarado may reassume his old post as chief of the local police in Himamaylan City after the investigation but it depends on the mayor.
The choice of who will be the next Himamaylan chief will always depend on the mayor as the PNP will submit the names of possible choices later if Mayor Carminia Bascon does not want Alvarado anymore.
