San Jose top three performers for 2009 Gawad Kalasag
SAN JOSE, Antique – The Municipal Disaster Coordinating Council-San Jose dB is one of the top three contenders for the 2009 National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) Gawad KALASAG. This is an annual Search for Excellence in Disaster Risk Management and Humanitarian Assistance conducted by the National Disaster Coordinating Council, Office of the Civil Defense, Manila.
Among the Local Government Unit’s, San Jose is one of the three top Best Municipal Disaster Coordinating Councils for 1st-3rdclass Municipal category nominee who will be competing to get the first placer. The other two municipalities are Calabanga, Camarines Sur and Maragusan, Compostela Valley.
In relation to this, the NDCC-National Selection Committee Validating Team visited San Jose de Buenavista to further assess and validate the council’s
Performance and output in management and preparedness in responding calamities and disaster that may occur. Engr. Alex Crespo, Executive Officer thoroughly disseminated and elaborated to the validating team the best practices, efficient management and functionality of the council before, during and after the onset of disaster. Because of the vivid presentation and the sharing of the member of the council as well as the insights and inputs of Mayor Rony L. Molina, it substantiated the reports submitted to the NDCC team which for sure guarantees our winability to set the top most award.
The validating team showed a positive remarks and highlighted the best practices of LGU-San Jose dB which are not yet considered in other two municipality contenders.
LGU-San Jose de Buenavista hopes for the best aiming to become the No. 1 in 2009 Gawad KALASAG.
It’s another milestone of achievements under the leadership of Hon. Rony L. Molina.
