Roxas City --- The newly-constructed skywalk along Roxas Avenue in front of Filamer Christian College was formally inaugurated with the presence of Congressman Antonio “Tony” del Rosario, representative of 1st District of Capiz, heading the occasion. The solon, who was recently awarded as Most Outstanding Neophyte Congressman by the House of Representatives, was the proponent of the skywalk project.
“The skywalk is one of my priority projects to help ease traffic congestion in the area as well as ensure the safety of the pedestrians,” Del Rosario said.
Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. also graced the occasion with his wife, Fatima Tanco, who cut the ceremonial ribbons with Suzette del Rosario, wife of Cong. Tony, assisted by Engr. Juby Cordon, asst. regional director of DPWH 6th Regional Office.

Engr. Manuel Bayani Bukas, district engineer of DPWH Capiz 1st Engineering District, turned over the completed skywalk project to the direct beneficiaries: Filamer Christian College, Barangay X and Barangay XI of Roxas City.
Dr. Expedito Señeres, president of Filamer Christian College, Hon. Roberto Avelino, barangay chairman of Brgy. X, and Hon. Nelson Vidal, barangay chairman of Brgy. XI delivered their messages of acceptance, thanking Cong. Tony del Rosario for the project.
Hon. Ronnie Dadivas, vice mayor of Roxas City and Director Rolando Asis, regional director of DPWH 6th Regional Office also attended and gave their messages during the inauguration.
