FCC university status underway
ROXAS CITY – Filamer Christian College (FCC), one of the oldest private schools in Capiz, is now applying to become a university before the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Mr. Jorgen Gregorio, Coordinator of Mass Media and Publication, told The News Today (TNT) that the FCC has already met all the requirements or the prerequisites set forth by the CHED to become university.
Gregorio said that officials of FCC are optimistic that the school will be become a university after 18 years of preparations.
According to him, a CHED special team will visit here on July 30 to August 1 to evaluate the FCC facilities if it can pass all the requirements as the basis of its conversion into a university.
He added that seven evaluators will conduct the initial evaluation while the final evaluation will be made by the commissioners before their approval for conversion.
The FCC has level 3 accreditation status which is also one of the requirements to qualify to become university.
FCC, an affiliate of Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City, has an area of more than five hectares and is offering almost all bachelor's degree courses as well as masteral and doctorate degrees.
