The Search for the Ilonggo Breakfast

The call for the search for the authentic Ilonggo breakfast has been answered and we are now pleased to announce the finalists to this competition, which wsill take place on July 25, 1 PM at Robinsons Place Iloilo.
There are two categories — Open Category and Student Category.
The finalists for the Open Category are: Mark Anthony Beup, Norma Celiza, Dennis Damasco, Darryl Jake Enarle and Noe Estrella.
The finalists for the Student Category are Deceree Dy of CPU, Jason Phhilip Jacomille of Western Institute of Technology, Angel Marie Medel of Leganes, Jerrica Bianca Tang of CPU and Vohn Johber Ticson of St. Therese MTC College.
The criteria for judging are: originality, 30 percent; distinctly local (use of at least one local or raw indigenous material listed in a validated research paper, 5 percent; technical preparation (mis en place, sanitation, cooking execution and palatability), 20 percent; nutritional value, 20 percent; economical, 10 percent; easy to cook and affordable, 15 percent; and presentation, 15 percent.
The winning recipe will be offered by hotels and restaurants here as the authentic Ilonggo breakfast.
