PNPA Cadet Admission Test set
BACOLOD CITY — Aspiring Negrenses who want to join the uniformed service via the Philippine National Police Academy will have another chance this year when the PNPA Cadet Admission Test will be administered all over the country on October 25.
PNPA Alumni Association, Inc-Negros Occidental Chapter spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr (PNPA ‘99) said that the examination is open to all qualified applicants who are 17-21 years old and born between May 2, 1988-May 1, 1993.
Among the initial requirements for admission include: 1. Of good moral character, 2. A natural born Filipino citizen, 3. Male or female, single and with no obligation to support a child or children, 4. Height of 5ft 4 in for male and 5ft 2 in for female, 5. At least high school graduate and 6. Must be physically and mentally fit for cadetship training.
Santotome added that an applicant must have no criminal, administrative or civil case on file before any Prosecutor’s Office or any Court of Justice and other derogatory records and has not been a former cadet of PNPA or other service academies.
Some of the grounds for medical disqualification are tattoos and other brotherhood marks and ear piercings (male only), goiter, history of pregnancy, presence of breast mass and painful menstruation for females, physical deformities, defective visual perception, hernia (if not treated, cleft lip and palate, history of heart disease and full dentures, upper and lower, as well as missing four anterior or front teeth and missing of six posterior/molar teeth.
Applicants must accomplish the application form with September 30 set as the deadline for submission.Forms are available at the NOPPO Display and Exhibit Booth at SM City-North Wing until July 31 and at Camp Alfredo Montelibano in Camingawan.
Successful applicants will compose the PNPA Class of 2014 who will undergo four years of cadetship training as government scholars at Camp Mariano Castaneda in Silang, Cavite with a basic salary of P14, 000 per month.
Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science in Public Safety course at PNPA, graduates will be commissioned as Inspectors (equivalent to Lieutenant in the AFP) in the PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection or Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
