Manny Librodo and his Landscape of Emotions

Manny Librodo held a photography exhibited entitled “Landscape of Emotions” at the Amigo Plaza Mall recently. It was a showcase of just a few of his photos taken during his travels. The exhibit showed his subjects ranging from sunsets to landscapes to beautiful models against picturesque backgrounds.
Photography, for Manny Librodo, is an “endless passion”. One has to be “persistent” if he chose photography as either a hobby or a profession. In photography, one has to “catch the moment”, moments that will have an almost impossible chance to happen again. For him, photography is “life”. You don’t just snap away just for the sake of taking photos, you take pictures that speaks of life in its simplest and most striking form.

He also admitted that he is not so much into the technicalities of photography, he is more into what he wants to capture in his lens and into the film. He says that he does not think when he takes photos, he says that he takes them from the heart. It is the heart that works for him, not just the camera. He began photography by taking photos of his students (he works as a full time teacher). It was his brother who introduced photography to him and his exhibit in Iloilo City is dedicated to his parents.
Manny Librodo is a self-taught photographer who values creative expression more than how a camera works. He began his digital photography five years ago and for three years, he has done workshops during his travels and a lot of portraiture. The Netherlands, the US, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Australia are just some of the countries that he was able to visit.
Some of Manny Librodo’s awards were: 1st place Digital Camera Magazine, 1st place Photographer of the year ‘08, 1st place Dusk Til Dawn Category, 1st place Spider Awards in Black and White and 1st place People category, 2006.
