This year, the delicate, winning beauty of the fabrics of Panay will be given form and character by John Montinola, Francis Ian Chua, Jor-el Espina and Edz Autencio with the hablon communities of Miag-ao and Oton for the 2nd Indigenous Fashion Market Week on August 10-16, 2009 at the activity center of SM City Iloilo.
The 2nd Indigenous Fashion Market Week is an annual project of the Iloilo Provincial Government through the Office of Culture, Arts, History and Tourism with SM City Iloilo. It seeks to preserve and promote indigenous hand-woven textiles used in making hablon, patadyong and pina.
Today, at 4 PM, witness Jor-El Espina’s “Anyag”; August 13, Habol Aninipay by the Municipality of Oton; August 14, Biste Moda Pina by Edz Autencio and August 16, Prima by the Municipality of Miag-ao.
