A(H1N1) victims in Capiz rises to 16
ROXAS CITY – Another three persons were infected with A(H1N1) influenza virus here bringing a total of 16 persons affected in the province of Capiz.
Earlier, Dr. Amelita Robles said that the A(H1N1) victims in Capiz increased from 5 to 13 in which 8 are from the city.
Document obtained by The News Today (TNT) revealed that two women, 56 years old and 55 years old, who are health workers and residents of this city were found positive of A(H1N1) influenza virus.
The two manifested symptoms of fever, cough, nasal congestion and muscle ache on July 28. They were out-patients of City Health Office on July 30 and were taken with swab samples.
On the other hand, a three-year old female of this city was also found positive of the said illness. The said victim manifested the same symptoms and was admitted at the Capiz Emmanuel Hospital on July 30 and was taken with a swab sample on July 31.
The three additional A(H1N1) influenza virus victims were found positive by Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and the results were released on August 12 by Mr. Zoe Herrera, provincial administrator.
