Plagata dares ICPO to solve ‘bukas kotse’ incidents
City Councilor Erwin Plagata challenged the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to solve the various incidents here involving the Bukas Kotse Gang.
Plagata said the police have already arrested several Bukas Kotse Gang suspects but still “bukas-kotse” incidents occur.
Plagata, who chairs the committee on police matters of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, said, it could be that the arrested “bukas-kotse” suspects are not really the ones engaged in Bukas Kotse activities.
After the arrest of suspects, eight more “bukas-kotse” incidents were recorded in the city’s different police stations.
A rigid police action is needed in order to address the crimes victimizing cars parked on parking areas of churches, malls and entertainment places, said Plagata.
On his part, ICPO chief Senior Supt. Melvin Mongcal said they are hoping to initiate another round of arrest for suspected Bukas Kotse Gang. The police have already identified three more suspects.
The city police director met with his chiefs of police to address the Bukas Kotse incidents.
