City aims to host international dance exchange
City Tourism Officer Ben Jimena said Iloilo City aims to host an international dance exchange with its Ayre-Bayle-serye project. Ayre-Bayle project is a series of dance presentation.
The Ayre-Bayle-Serye is only one of the tourism projects prepared by the tourism office in order to strengthen the city’s tourism sector.
Jimena said it will showcase the Ilonggos’ skills in dancing. It is in coordination with the National Council for Culture and Arts (NCCA). It is the first attempt of the city to partner with NCCA. The city has not organized projects with NCCA.
The project will give emphasize to dances as form of art. It is one venue for the local performers to perform and show their skills in dancing, said Jimena.
The city government is asking the NCCA for a grant in conducting the series of dance performances. There will be 16 dance troupes to perform every Sunday at the activity center of SM City Iloilo, said Jimena.
The Ayre-Bayle-Serye started Sunday with the 16 dance troupes around.
