DA 6 to conduct poster making Contest for World Food Day ‘09
The Department of Agriculture 6 (DA) will conduct a regionwide on-the-spot poster making contest on October 2 in celebration of the 2009 World Food Day.
The event will be held in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization and the Department of Education (DepEd).
The contest will focus on the World Food Day theme “Achieving food security in times of crisis.”
The contest is open to all Grade VI elementary pupils enrolled in any public and DepEd-accredited private elementary schools.
Materials to be used include an illustration board (20” x 30”) to be provided by the Contest Committee.
Contestants may be use any art medium, except oil and water color, and a combination of agricultural and fishery products (e.g. palay grains, mongo, squash seeds, corn kernels/husks, sea shells, dried seaweeds, etc).
The Regional winner shall receive THREE THOUSAND PESOS (P3, 000) from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. The regional winner will also be sent to the National on-the-spot poster making contest. Participants and schools will receive certificates of participation.
The best five entries from the nationwide elimination process will receive a cash prize, a trophy and a plaque for the winning school. Awarding will be held during the World Food Day on the October 16, in Manila.
The national winners shall be provided with an all-expense-educational tour, sponsored by the National Agricultural and Fishery Council (NAFC).
