IFIT Jingle-Making Contest calls for entries
The Iloilo Federation for Information Technology (IFIT) is calling for entries for its Jingle-Making Contest. The Jingle-Making Contest is part of the activities lined up for the Iloilo IT Week 2009 on September 28-30, 2009 at the Fountain Area of Robinson’s Place Iloilo, Iloilo City.
The contest is open to all individuals or groups. The individual or group is only allowed only one (1) entry. The jingle and its accompaniment must be original and maybe of any type and style provided its message must convey the role of IFIT in promoting Information Technology for the economic development of Iloilo. Its lyrics must be in English.
The entry must not be more than three (3) minutes including its instrumental intro and extro. The accompaniment must be sequenced digitally using electronic organs or PCs provided the originality of harmony and counterpoints is taken into consideration. Any live instrument is not allowed in recording the accompaniment (minus one) and in the final performance. The jingle entry must be recorded with accompaniment in CD together with five (5) copies of the typewritten lyrics and an entry form. No name of the composer/lyricist shall appear on the CD and lyric sheets except for the title of the song.

The entries will be judged according to Melody (35%)–musical content, singability, originality, rhythm and style; Lyrics (45%)–message, grammar and construction, appropriateness to theme); and Impact (20%) -the combination of melody and lyrics and the appropriateness of both which complement and supplement each other.
The deadline for submission of entries will be September 21, 2009. Three (3) finalists will be chosen and will perform on stage during the Iloilo IT Week on September 30, 2009.
