BBB Foundation links with ANP
The Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation, Inc. has linked up with the Association of Negros Producers (ANP), Inc.’s Entrepreneurship Development Program as part of its continuing thrust of helping build self-reliant communities.
The foundation heps in identifying and mentoring producers in the Third District to become full-fledged entrepreneurs.
In an interview, Albee Benitez, president of the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation said four groups have been identified with high potential for entrepreneurial venture in the cities of Victorias, Silay and Talisay and the municipality of E.B. Magalona.
The Foundation started to tie-up with the Association of Negros Producers as early as this year in identifying producers and products, with potential for success and the producers underwent a series of training and preparatory activities to enable them to come up with quality products to be introduced in the annual Negros Trade Fair at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City in September 11 to 16, 2009.
“The initial products of four selected producers from Victorias, E. B. Magalona, Silay and Talisay are all set to present their prototypes in an exhibit as one of the highlights of the Negros Trade Fair this week,” Benitez announced.
Victorias City will showcase home decors made from carabao horn. E. B. Magalona will present macramé products. Silay has embroidered items and Talisay has bamboocraft.
Negros Trade Fair chairperson and ANP director Millie Kilayko on the other hand said the exposure will provide not only market access to the producers but also introduce them to valuable experiences, insights and feedback to enable them to lift their products to a new level of competitiveness.
“This entrepreneurship development program is another initiative the Foundation hopes to bring to as many communities in the Third District,” Benitez added.
