Monico to host GSIS forum with beneficiaries in Bacolod City
BACOLOD CITY — Bacolod Congressman Monico O. Puentevella announces that the Government Service Insurance System will hold a forum with its members and beneficiaries in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental on September 25, 2009. Puentevella said GSIS is coordinating with his office on how to provide for a venue where its members and beneficiaries can discuss and air their respective concerns with said government agency.
Puentevella also announced that GSIS Executive Vice President for Operations Consuelo Manansala and Senior Vice President for NCR/Luzon/Vis-Min Group Dionisio C. Ebdane, Jr. are scheduled to attend the forum.
GSIS is expected to offer services for senior citizens, retirees, government employees and pensioners. The forum on September 25 is a one-day affair only.
Numerous government employees especially school teachers and retirees have complained against GSIS for the delay of the processing of their benefits. This problem was further compounded when said agency closed their office in Bacolod City except for a skeletal force. GSIS members and beneficiaries were compelled to travel to Iloilo City. The sector greatly affected by this situation was the senior citizens.
Puentevella recently was assured by GSIS that a team shall be assigned to Bacolod City as a fully functional arm of the agency.
GSIS is coordinating with the Bacolod Congressional Office to finalize venue of the forum.
