Guimaras CBRTs receive garden swings
Guimaras—-The Provincial Government through the initiative of Governor Felipe Hilan Nava turned-over the 20 units of garden swings to eight Community-Based Rural Tourism and four local government units of Guimaras: Nueva Valencia, Sibunag, Buenavista, Jordan. The recipients of the said swings were the four barangays of Nueva Valencia: Dolores, San Roque, Lanipe and Salvacion, two barangays of Buenavista: Salvacion and Tastasan, Sapal of San Lorenzo and Hoskyns of Jordan. Those mentioned CBRT barangays received two units of the garden swings. The said four LGUs also received one unit of the said swing.
The formal turn-over of the garden swings was held on September 14, 2009 at the Guimaras Provincial Capitol which was attended by municipal officials, CBRT and barangay officials.
According to Gov. Nava, this endeavor is one way of giving appreciation and incentive to the well-established and active CBRTs that participated in the last Manggahan Festival. “It is also a form of promoting local products as well as showcasing the workmanship of the students of Guimaras State College who manufactured the said swings”, he added.
Mayor Cresente Chavez of Jordan gave his message of acceptance. Augusto Gandeza, barangay captain of Dolores, Nueva Valencia, the first ever CBRT barangay, also gave his message of acceptance and gratitude in behalf of all the CBRT officials.
