Politics is war without use of weapon, says Gen. Lastimoso
ROXAS CITY – “Politics is a war without the use of weapon and if we will allow any violence during the election, we will make a different landscape of election in Capiz,” former PNP Chief and retired Gen. Roberto “Bobby” Lastimoso said last Sunday.
Lastimoso made the pronouncement after many tarpaulins bearing his name in the 2nd district were stripped off by still unknown persons.
Lastimoso, who attended the medical mission and blessing of governor’s satellite office in Tapaz, said that historically, politics in Capiz had never been violent.
Lastimoso, who earlier announced his intention to run as 2nd district congressman, is facing Mrs. Jane Castro, wife of incumbent Representative Fredenil Castro.
It was learned that the tarpaulins of Mrs. Castro were first to have spray-painted by also unknown suspects in the 2nd district. Some quarters said that the perpetrators could come from a 3rd party who wanted to heat up the congressional race between Castro and Lastimoso.
The former PNP chief also appealed to his opponent to be of high level during the election and not to be low level as he can do the same too.
Meanwhile, Gov. Tanco distributed some 950 Philhealth Cards to indigents in Tapaz. He also conducted a medical mission which benefited hundreds of Tapaznons and distributed 3 multicab patrols to Brgys. San Nicolas, Initan and Candelaria.
