Borja helps Capizeño flood victims in Manila
ROXAS CITY – A noted criminal lawyer based in Quezon City helped his “kasimanwas” who were among the flood victims during the typhoon Ondoy which devastated Metro Manila and many parts of Luzon last week.
Sheila Jane Edizon, 36, of Bagong Silangan, Quezon City, said over RMN-dyVR’s “Straight to the point” program hosted by Station Manager Ely Abarra that Atty. Nelson Borja helped them a lot during the calamity.
She said that she and her five siblings and relatives are lucky enough to survive the floods by climbing at the roof top of their neighbor’s house, however, after the floods they were afflicted with several diseases.
“Thank you to Atty. Borja who sent us to hospital and shouldered our medicines,” Edizon said during the interview.
On the other hand, Borja said in the same station that he is open to help not only the Capizeños but also people from other places as long as he can.
“That’s my fulfillment in life to help the needy in times of calamity and crises,” Borja said.
According to him, it is his satisfaction to serve God through helping people who are poor.
Borja, a native of Panay, Capiz, is groomed to run as congressman in the 1st district of Capiz however, he said that he has not yet decided about his political plans for next year.
