City Hall close to hitting 100% collection target
The Iloilo City Government is almost sure to surpass the 100 percent revenue target in the last three–month period after hitting a high 95 percent in collections in the first nine months of 2009.
The City Treasurer’s Office already collected P912,329,254 from January-September and very close to achieve this year’s P958,494,995 city’s budget estimate.
Business and other taxes topped the collections at P254,236,528 or 94 percent of the P269,360,000 target for the whole year.
Real property taxes collections amounted to P155,584,435 or 95 percent of P163,499,717 target for this year.
Non-tax revenue or various fees collected reached P86,596,676 or a whooping 110 percent breaching the target of P78,519,000.
The city-run public markets and slaughterhouse collected P37,262,143 or 108 percent exceeding of the target of P34,610,000.
The City Hall also received P378,649,471 or 92 percent from the initial releases of its P412,506,278 Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) share this year.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas credited the diligent efforts of the City Treasurer’s and Assessor’s offices and the cooperation of taxpayers for the successful collection. (PIO)
